How do I know if my stone needs sealing?

Do a water drop test. If water darkens the stone, it needs sealer. We can check on site and reseal as needed.

What is the difference between honing and polishing?

Honing removes scratches and etches to flatten and smooth the surface. Polishing brings up the gloss. Many floors need both for a like-new finish.

How long does a typical project take?

A standard kitchen or primary bath is often completed in a day. Large or heavily damaged areas may take longer. We will give you a clear timeline at the estimate.

What cleaners should I use after service?

Use a stone-safe, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid vinegar, bleach, and harsh degreasers. We will leave a simple care guide for daily cleaning.

Modern Stone Care did a first rate professional job on cleaning and sealing the travertine tile on our rear patio and front entranceway. See photos. They were on time and were a pleasure to work with. They explained the process as the work was done. All of our furniture was moved out of the way and when the work was done placed back.

Modern Stone Care did a great job on restoring 29 year old travertine kitchen floor tile. They also showed us how to keep care of the floor tile. Price was very fair. Not supposed to use Pine Sol, as not good for floor stone (I have been using Pine Sol for last two years).. MSC polished the stone and restored its sheen. Great job!

We had Modern Stone Care refinish our countertops. They let us see a matte finish before doing all of the countertops and after we saw it we really liked it. It only took them a couple of hours. They did a great job and I would definitely use them again
